Chalk up American Idol/Grammy winner Carrie Underwood as having a taste for dating athletes.

The "Jesus Take The Wheel" diva was previously in a relationship with Jessica Simpson's current beau, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, 28.

Reports over the summer had it that Underwood, 25, was also involved in a flirty text session with 23-year-old Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.

Now the Ottawa Citizen is claiming Carrie's latest paramour is Ottawa Senators hockey stud Mike Fisher, 28. The two have apparently been close since he met the nonpartisan singer backstage at one of her concerts in March 2008

“I think it’s serious, I mean he’s really happy with her," Ottawa, Canada, fitness trainer Tony Greco tells the paper. "They’re a perfect match."

Of course, when Fisher himself was asked to confirm his dalliances with Underwood, he said, “I can’t comment on anything in my personal life, so that’s about all I can say. I don’t really want to say anything."

Well, if Mike really is skating in Carrie's rink, it's only a matter of time before the cagey couple goes public.
