Diane Kruger


Diane Kruger was born in Germany, near Hildesheim. Growing up, she wanted to become a ballerina and successfully auditioned and was admitted into the Royal Ballet School in London. After a tragic injury, he ballet career ended permanently. Kruger became interested in acting and started taking lessons at the Cours Florent. Because of her training, she started landing small appearances in French films. Kruger made her onscreen debut in 2002 in The Piano Player a TV movie, opposite Dennis Hopper and Christopher Lambert. Her first starring role was during the same year when she starred in her former husband’s directorial debut Mon Idole. In 2003, she played the part of Julie Wood in Michael Valliant and Lisa in 2004’s Wicker Park with Josh Hartnett and Rose Byrne. Her most famous role to date is her portrayal of Helen in Troy. Also in 2004, Diane starred with Nicolas Cage and Sean Bean in the film National Treasure as Dr. Abigail Chase. In 2007, she came back to make the sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets. In August 2009, Kruger will co-star in the newest Quentin Tarantino film, Inglorious Basterds alongside Brad Pitt. The film is set in Nazi Germany during World War II. In the film, Kruger plays the part of Bridget von Hammersmark, a popular film star in Nazi Germany who is a spy for the allies.
