After years of moderate success - and living in the shadow of a famous father - Josh Brolin is poised for the biggest role of his career. Josh J. Brolin was born on February 12, 1968, in Templeton, California, to Jane Cameron Agee, an aspiring actress and actor James Brolin, best known for his role in the 1978 horror flick The Amityville Horror. Despite having show business in his blood, success for Josh didn’t come easily. His first big role was in 1985 playing Brand Walsh in the cult favorite The Goonies. A little nepotism never hurt anyone, and with Dad James in the co-director’s seat, Josh enjoyed a successful run as Wild Bill Hickok on the ABC western The Young Riders, which lasted from 1989 to 1992. Since then, Josh has played supporting roles in Hollow Man, Nightwatch and The Mod Squad.
While not tending his career, Josh managed to take some time for himself, marrying actress Diane Lane in 2004. Josh’s hard work paid off in 2007, when he made a splash in several high-profile projects. He played a maniacal doctor in Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and appeared in two Oscar-nominated films, American Gangster with Denzel Washington and Best Picture winner No Country for Old Men. The future is bright for Josh. He's up next as George W. Bush in controversial director Oliver Stone’s drama W, set for release in 2009.
