Katy Perry was born October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California. She is a pop singer with hits such as “Hot ’N Cold” and “California Gurls.” Katy grew up in a very religious household and started her career as a gospel singer. Katy had a few small hits, but when she signed with Columbia Records and released her album One of the Boys in 2008, she experienced huge success. All of the singles she released from that album -- including “I Kissed a Girl,” “Hot ’N Cold” and “Waking Up in Vegas” -- became hits. In 2010, she released Teenage Dream, which was her first CD to debut at number one. Katy and Russell announced their separation in December 2011, and officially became divorced in February 2012.
