Blond beauty Maria Bello isn't afraid to take chances in the roles she chooses, which has led her to a successful career. She was born on April 18, 1967 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. With aspirations of becoming an attorney, Maria attended Villanova University, where she majored in political science. During her senior year, to counter-balance her tough classes, she took some acting classes to blow off steam. She found she enjoyed acting and went on to star in some off-Broadway productions. She got her big break on the short-lived television show Mr. and Mrs. Smith (not to be confused with the Brangelina flick) in 1986, which co-starred Scott Bakula. She went on to a recurring role on the medical drama ER, playing pediatrician Dr. Anna Del Amico for the 1997-1998 season. Her first film role was alongside Ben Stiller in the drama Permanent Midnight in 1999. She went on to co-star with Mel Gibson action flick Payback and the cult favorite Coyote Ugly. She received her first Golden Globe nomination for The Cooler in 2003 and her second for her provocative role in David Cronenberg's A History of Violence in 2005. Maria has a number of projects in the works, including the third installment of The Mummy franchise with Brendan Fraser. With that potential blockbuster on the horizon, Maria's future is less than 'ugly.'
