Maria Menounos

Entertainment journalist-turned-actress Maria Menounos has successfully made the transition from holding the microphone to being the subject of interviews herself. This raven-haired beauty was born on June 8, 1978, in Medford, Massachusetts. With her striking looks (partially as a result of her Greek background) she entered the entertainment business by way of beauty pageants. She won the title of Miss Massachusetts Teen USA in 1996 and placed in the top 15 at the Miss Teen USA pageant that year. She later took the title of Miss Massachusetts USA in 2000 and came in first runner-up inn the Miss USA pageant. During her senior year at Boston's Emerson College, she was hired as a news reporter for the educational service Channel One News. In 2002, she was hired by Entertainment Tonight as a correspondent and ended up hosting ET's incarnations of both MTV and VH1. She left in 2005 to pursue a career in acting and had a small part in The Fantastic Four that year. She later popped up as a special correspondent on Access Hollywood and The Today Show. She made a guest appearance on Scrubs in 2006 and co-starred with Jamie Kennedy in the comedy Kickin' It Old Skool the next year.
