Adam Lambert Bio

Adam Lambert was born on January 29, 1982 in Indiana and shortly after moved with his family to San Diego, CA. Around the age of 10 he started to dream of becoming an entertainer and was cast in his first role, as Linus in the Lyceum Theater’s production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Because of this performance, he fell in love with the stage and started taking private voice lessons. Throughout his childhood he performed in many more musicals such as Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease, and Chess.

Adam attended Mt. Carmel High School and immediately after graduating moved to Orange County for college. Shortly after his first semester began, he had a complete change of heart and came to the realization that his real desire was to perform. He packed up and moved to Los Angeles where he worked several odd jobs while attempting to make it in theater.

In 2004 Lambert began to make a name for himself by performing in small parts throughout Los Angeles. He played a tiny role in The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theater and also performed regularly on the Zodiac Show, a touring revue of live music and talent that was co-created by Carmit Bachar of the band The Pussycat Dolls. Most recently, Adam landed a spot as an understudy as Flyero in both the touring and Los Angeles cast of the play Wicked.

Lambert stepped into the national spotlight in 2009, after he became a finalist on the eighth season of American Idol. His rendition of the 2001 Gary Jules’ arrangement of the song “Mad World” received a standing ovation from the shows toughest judge, Simon Cowell. Adam, along with fellow contestants Danny Gokey and Kris Allen were the only finalists in the season to not have been ranked in the bottom three positions at any point during the show. Lambert was considered a front-runner in the competition, but in the end was beat out by Kris Allen.

Many critics think that Lambert lost because of his openly gay lifestyle. He however, denies this rumor and claims that Kris won because of his talent. Regardless of the fact he lost the competition, there is no doubt that he will have a successful career!
