Ahmad Rashad

Bio

Ahmad Rashad, a.k.a. Robert “Bobby” Earl Moore, was born November 19, 1949, in Portland, Oregon. He changed his name to Ahmad Rashad in 1972 after converting to Islam. He is best known for being a professional football player and sportscaster. Ahmad was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1972 NFL draft as the fourth overall pick. After two years with the Cardinals, he played two years for the Buffalo Bills and then a year for the Seattle Seahawks. But he is best known for his six years playing for the Minnesota Vikings. During his tenure with the Vikings, he earned four consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 1978 to 1981. Following the end to his football career, he became a sportscaster for the NFL and NBA. Ahmad has many children and has been married four times, most notably to Cosby Show actress Phylicia Ayers-Alenn, to whom he was married for sixteen years. He has been married to fourth wife Sale Johnson since November 19, 2007.
