Alicia Silverstone was born October 4, 1976, in San Francisco, California. She is an actress and author who is best known for her starring roles in the films Clueless and Batman & Robin. She began her career in the early 1990's with a lead part in The Crush, which earned her two MTV Movie Awards. Her portrayal of Cher Horowitz in 1995’s Clueless earned her multiple nominations and awards, including two MTV Movie Awards, a Blockbuster Entertainment Award, an American Comedy Award and a National Board of Review Award for Best Breakthrough Performer. Since then, Alicia has starred in films such as Blast from the Past, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Beauty Shop and Tropic Thunder. In 2003, she starred in the TV series Miss Match, but it was cancelled after one season. On June 11, 2005, she married rock musician Christopher Jareck. She then transitioned into writing, and in 2009 released a guide to vegan nutrition, The Kind Diet, which made the New York Times Best-Seller List.
