Allen Iverson was born June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia. He is a pro basketball player who was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1996. Allen is known for being a very "in your face" player, which opponents like Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen had a hard time dealing with. He is also known for his quick drives to the basket and for his crossover move. Allen’s game play earned him the Rookie of the Year title in 1997, and he has been an All-NBA First Team selection, an NBA All-Star and an All-Star MVP. In 2001—the year he led his team to the NBA Finals against the Lakers—he earned the title of NBA MVP. Allen played for the 76ers from 1996 to 2006, then played for the Denver Nuggets, the Detroit Pistons and the Memphis Grizzlies before returning to the Sixers in 2009. On August 3, 2001, he married Tawanna Turner; they have four children together.
