Amy Adams was born to American parents on August 20, 1974, in Aviano, Italy; she grew up in a Mormon family in Castle Rock, Colorado. She is an Oscar-nominated actress who is best known for her performances in the hit films Doubt, Enchanted and Julie & Julia. Amy’s breakout role was playing Ashley in the 2005 independent film Junebug, a performance that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress and a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Prior to that, she appeared in the films Drop Dead Gorgeous, Catch Me If You Can and The Wedding Date. Her portrayal of Giselle in 2007’s Enchanted earned her Golden Globe, MTV Movie Award and Teen Choice Award nominations, and her performance in 2009’s Doubt earned her another Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actress. In April 2008, Amy and her actor boyfriend, Darren Le Gallo, got engaged. The couple had their first child, daughter Aviana, on May 15, 2010. Amy is scheduled to appear in five films that are currently in production.
