Amy Grant was born November 25, 1960 in Augusta, Georgia. She is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter who is best known for her Christian music, and for pop hits like “That’s What Love Is For” and “Baby Baby.” She is the first artist to have a Christian album go platinum. Amy’s debut album, Amy Grant, was released in 1977 and contained the Christian-radio hits “Beautiful Music” and “Old Man’s Rubble.” Her second album, 1979’s My Father’s Eyes, earned Amy her first Grammy nomination. Not long after, she transitioned into pop with albums like Unguarded and Heart in Motion. Amy has recorded twenty-one albums under five different labels, including Myrrh, Word, A&M, Warner/Curb and her current label, Sparrow/EMI. In the course of her career she has won six Grammy Awards and twenty-five Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. On June 19, 1982, she married Gary Chapman, a Christian musician. They have three children together before divorcing in 1999. Amy then married country superstar Vince Gill on March 10, 2000, and they have a daughter together.
