Will Black be the New Black, Even at the Oscars?
I know this year's Fashion Week had a lot of the typical recession-era blacks and grays, wools and cozy cover-me-in-comfort sorts of materials for the fall collections, but I can't help but thinking...there's no way it's going to go in that direction tonight, right?
After all, Heidi Klum has already unveiled her Red Dress #2, which she'll be wearing for the Diet Coke Heart Truth campaign, to raise awareness for heart disease in women and generate funds for future research (which I totally support, Heids). No black there, except maybe in her fake eyelashes.
However, we all saw Renee Zellwegger at the Golden Globes. She may as well have been wheeled in in her coffin, as it clearly appeared as if she were one foot in the grave in that ghastly getup. Did someone give her the heads up before the fall collections set off down the runways? Should we have applauded her depressing style of dress rather than poking fun? No, because clearly, if you look at Kate Winslet's choice of dress that night (also black, but infinitely cuter), black is back, baby, and in a big way.
That being said, I happened to love the oyster color that 95% of the other babes donned on the red carpet that night. I didn't find it unflattering on Beyonce, Eva Mendez, Demi Moore or even Isla Fisher, who's so pale to begin with you'd have thunk oyster against alabaster would have been one white nightmare straight out of Bridezillas. So if oyster can be flattering, black is a girl's best friend -- forget the diamonds, Bernie Madeoff took all my money anyways.
It's always too early at the Oscars for spring pastels; Cameron Diaz looked like a tall bottle of Pepto at the Globes. No white until Memorial Day (yes, I totally abide by this rule, without fail) and that pretty much leaves us with...ummm...navy, gray, eggplant, olive and...yup, you guessed it, BLACK.
I'm going to go out on a limb here, and I'm going to make somemore -

The couple failed to have one of their ex-bodyguards sign a Confidentiality Agreement. I laugh. I laugh a lot. I guess being intelligent is not one of their strong points… Brad and Angie: you better hope you never lose your looks.

She fears that Brad may fall in love with the 'Inglorious Bastards' co star as they did ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ in 2005 when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Well guys you never know Brad and Diane had really good chemistry between them on the sets of the 2003 epic blockbuster 'Helen Of Troy' moreover for such a handsome hunk like Brad Pitt, it is really injustice to other women if he has to sleep with one women through his whole life.....or maybe two. :p

Jolie first became personally aware of worldwide humanitarian crises while filming Tomb Raider in poverty-stricken and widely mined Cambodia. She eventually turned to UNHCR for more information on international trouble spots. In the following months she agreed to visit different refugee camps around the world to learn more about the situation and the conditions in these areas. In February 2001, Jolie went on her first field visit, an 18-day mission to Sierra Leone and Tanzania; she later expressed her shock at what she had witnessed.
