Anna Nicole Smith was born November 28, 1967, in Mexia, Texas. She was a model who first became famous for appearing in Playboy. Anna was Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 1993. In 1994, she formed a relationship with elderly tycoon J. Howard Marshall II while she was still married to first husband Billy Smith, the father of her son, Daniel. Anna Nicole and Smith divorced, and she then married Marshall, who was 69 years older than she. After just thirteen months of marriage, Marshall died, after which Anna became embroiled in a legal battle with Marshall’s son over the billion-dollar estate. The case has gone through many appeals, most recently in September 2010. In 2002, Smith got her own reality show, The Anna Nicole Show, which focused on her personal life. Meanwhile, she was having a relationship with personal attorney Howard K. Stern, and became pregnant. On September 7, 2006, she gave birth to daughter Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern in the Bahamas. Three days later, Anna Nicole's son, Daniel, died from an accidental overdose at age 20. A few months after that, on February 8, 2007, Anna Nicole died from an accidental drug overdose herself. Following Anna Nicole’s death, a battle erupted between Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead (whom Anna Nicole had been dating) over Dannielynn’s paternity. On April 10, 2007, a judge ruled that Larry Birkhead is, in fact, Dannielynn’s father.
