Anna Wintour was born November 3, 1949, in London, England. She is a magazine editor who is best known for being the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, and for being the inspiration for the bestselling novel and subsequent hit film The Devil Wears Prada. Anna started her career in 1970, when she became an editorial assistant for the British magazine Harpers & Queen. In 1975, she moved to New York, becoming a junior fashion editor at Harper's Bazaar. Following that, she worked as a fashion editor for New York. In 1988, after longing to work for Vogue for many years, she became the magazine’s editor-in-chief. Anna has been married two times. In 1985, she married David Schaffer, and they had two children together before divorcing in 2001. In 2004, she married J. Shelby Bryan.
