Barry Diller


Barry Diller was born February 2, 1942, in San Francisco, California. He is the chairman of Expedia and the CEO and chairman of InterActiveCorp, which includes companies such as Ticketmaster, Match.com, Citysearch and the Home Shopping Network. According to The New York Times, Barry was the highest-paid executive in 2005, earning more than $295 million. From 1974 to 1984, he was CEO of Paramount Pictures; under his leadership, the corporation produced popular television series like Taxi and Cheers and films such as Grease, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Terms of Endearment and Beverly Hills Cop. From 1984 to 1992, Barry was CEO of Fox, Inc., during which time he okayed production of The Simpsons. In 1997, he purchased USA Broadcasting. Barry married fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg in 2001.
