Ben Affleck


Ben Affleck was born August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California, but was raised in Massachusetts. He is an actor, director and writer who first gained major attention with his role in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, which he cowrote along with his childhood friend, Matt Damon. The script won both of them an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay. Other films Ben has appeared in include Shakespeare in Love, Armageddon, Changing Lanes, Hollywoodland, The Sum of All Fears, Pearl Harbor, Boiler Room, Daredevil, He's Just Not That Into You, among others. Ben made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed 2007 film Gone Baby Gone and subsequently directed 2010’s The Town. Ben has been involved in some high-profile relationships in the past, including romances with actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez. On June 29, 2005, he married actress Jennifer Garner. They have two children together. Ben is the older brother of actor Casey Affleck.
