Bio

Slapstick funny man-turned-indie flick icon Bill Murray was born September 21, 1950 , the fifth of nine children born to Edward and Lucille Murray. He and most of his siblings worked as caddies growing up, hence his passion for all things golf later in life. After dropping out of college, he then joined the National Lampoon Radio Hour with future comedy legends Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner and John Belushi. He later joined them again in 1975 on Saturday Night Live. After that, he starred in some of the most popular and iconic movies of our time, including Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. He was nominated for an Oscar in 2003 for Lost in Translation.
