Bob Barker


Bob Barker was born December 12, 1923, in Rosemont, Illinois. He is a television personality who is best known for hosting the popular game show The Price Is Right from 1972 until 2007. He also hosted Truth or Consequences from 1956 until the show ended in 1975. Earlier in his career, Bob hosted a variety of other shows, including End of the Rainbow, The Family Guy, Simon Says and That's My Line. He retired from the industry in June 2007 after fifty years in television. In the course of his career, Bob won nineteen Emmy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award for Daytime Television in 1999. He was also inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame, and the Hall of Famous Missourians. In 2009, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Show Awards.
