Brandy Norwood was born on February 11, 1979, in McComb, Mississippi to a musical family. She is the older sister to Ray J. Norwood first appeared on the short-lived ABC sitcom Thea in 1993. That led to her own successful UPN sitcom Moesha in 1996. Following that, she found herself on the big screen in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and the highly-rated made for TV movies Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella and Double Platinum. In 1993 she released her self-titled debut album. She followed the success of Grammy Award-winning "The Boy Is Mine," with a series of records which established her as one of the most successful R&B female vocalists of the 1990s. Norwood as one of the best-selling female artists in American music history, having sold over 8.5 million copies of her five studio albums in the United States and over 30 million records worldwide, to date.
