BRITNEY Spears has spent her first night in Melbourne, with the pop star expected to soak up our city's sights during her concert tour.
Spears touched down in Melbourne yesterday evening on a private jet.
Insatiable fans are on high alert for a close encounter with their idol, who is believed to have her two young sons in tow.
Her show - The Circus Starring Britney Spears - has moved from Perth to Melbourne for the second leg of her first Australian tour.
Spears is staying at the plush Park Hyatt hotel near State Parliament.
Spears' will have two days to relax and shop at Melbourne's famous boutiques and dine in world renowned restaurants before preparing for the first of her four high-energy concerts on Wednesday.
A known animal lover, Spears could take her children Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3, to Melbourne Zoo or Southbank's Aquarium.
Promoter Paul Dainty said Spears wanted to get out and about in Melbourne after a tight schedule in Perth, which allowed little personal time.
The headline-grabbing singer will perform shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week at Rod Laver Arena, before flying to Sydney. She will return to Melbourne on November 27 for a fourth show.
The 14-concert Australian tour wraps up in Adelaide on November 29.
Fans will see 50 dancers, magicians, clowns, acrobats, and Spears making multiple changes into costumes studded with 100,000 hand-sewn Swarovski crystals.
The $30 million concerts have reclaimed Spears' title of pop princess after much-publicised personal troubles.
Mr Dainty described the circus-themed theatrical show as stunning.
Thousands of Perth fans have flooded Spears' personal website to congratulate her on her comeback, describing the Burswood Dome performances last week as "amazing" and "hot".
