Courtney Thorne-Smith was born November 8, 1967, in San Francisco, California. She is an actress who is best known for her starring roles in the popular TV series Melrose Place, Ally McBeal and According to Jim. Courtney’s career began in the mid-’80s with small roles in series like Fast Times, Day by Day and L.A. Law. She played Allison Parker in Melrose Place from 1992 to 1997, then landed the part of Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal, which she starred in from 1997 to 2002. She and her cast mates won the 1999 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. In 2001, Courtney was cast as Cheryl in the series According to Jim, and she remained on the show until it ended in 2009. She recently made a guest appearance on Two and a Half Men. Courtney and her second husband, Roger Fishman, have been married since January 2007; they have one child together.
