Cristiano Ronaldo was born Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro on February 5, 1985, in Portugal. He is a soccer star who has played for Spain’s Real Madrid team since 2009. He is also the captain of the Portuguese national team. In both 2006 and 2010, he played in the World Cup, and in 2008, he was named FIFA World Player of the Year. From 2001 to 2003, he played for the Portuguese team Sporting CP; from 2003 to 2009, he played for Manchester United, scoring 84 goals. Cristiano is the highest-paid player in soccer history; he has a $132 million contract with Real Madrid.
