Cyndi Lauper


Cyndi Lauper was born Cynthia Ann Lauper in Ozone Park, New York, on June 22, 1953, and is a singer-songwriter and actress. Lauper reached fame in the mid-80s with her album She's So Unusual, which contained hits like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and was the first female singer to have four top-five singles from one album. As of 2008, she’d sold more than 30 million records worldwide, with 11 albums and more than 40 singles. In January 2010, Mattel, an American toy company, released a Cyndi Lauper Barbie doll as part of their “Ladies of the ’80s” series. Lauper and her husband, David Thornton, have been married since November 1991 and have one son, Declyn Wallace Thornton, born on November 17, 1997.
