Damien Rice


Damien Rice was born on December 7, 1973, in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland, and he is a singer-songwriter and musician. Rice got his start in the 1990s rock group Juniper, but decided to go solo. Rice contacted his second cousin, music producer David Arnold, and began recording. On February 1, 2002, Rice released his debut solo album, O, which topped at #8 on the UK album chart. Rice's work has been featured in many television shows, and his music is frequently brought up in The Suicide Club, by Rhys Thomas (2009). Rice's single "9 Crimes" has been featured in Jericho, Shrek the Third and True Blood.
