Even though her sex appeal may be stronger than her acting ability, Denise Richards has been able to find work as everything from a bug zapper to a Bond girl. Denise was born on February 17, 1971, in Downers Grove, Illinois. She started her career as a model, and after landing small parts in a variety of TV shows and movies, landed a role in Paul Veerhoven’s 1997 sci-fi flick Starship Troopers. She put her assets on full display the next year in the steamy Wild Things, which featured a naughty threesome between Denise, Neve Campbell and Matt Dillon.
Proving that casting directors can make mistakes, Denise was sadly miscast as nuclear scientist Christmas Jones in the 1999 James Bond film The World Is Not Enough. Her performance earned her the dubious title of the worst Bond girl of all time by Entertainment Weekly magazine. Undaunted, Denise kept working in films, sticking to comedies like Undercover Brother and Scary Movie 3, which co-starred her husband, actor Charlie Sheen, who she married in 2002.
The couple has two kids, Sam and Lola and went through a highly publicized and messy divorce in 2006. Denise’s next project is the no-holds-barred reality show, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, debuting on E! in late May. At least she will be somewhat convincing in this role.
