Dylan McDermott was born October 26, 1961, in Waterbury, Connecticut. He is a Golden-Globe winning actor who is best known for playing Bobby Donnell on the popular TV drama The Practice and Lt. Carter Shaw on the series Dark Blue. In 1999, Dylan was in GQ Magazine’s Man of the Year issue, and he made People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” list in 1998. He dated actress Julia Roberts after meeting her on the set of the film Steel Magnolias. He has also appeared in films such as In the Line of Fire and Hamburger Hill. Dylan is a recovering alcoholic and has been sober since the 1990s. Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues, is his adopted mother. Dylan married Shiva Aftar Rose in 1995, and they had two daughters before divorcing in 2009.
