- Born: February 7, 1962
Eddie Izzard was born on February 7, 1962, in Aden, Yemen, to British parents. He is an Emmy-winning stand-up comedian and actor whose popular comedy shows have been released on film. They include Unrepeatable, Definite Article, Glorious, Dress to Kill, Circle, Sexie, Stripped, Live from Wembley and Live at the Ambassadors. In many of his shows, Eddie discusses his transvestism. Eddie has also appeared in films such as Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen, Mystery Me, The Avengers, Mystery Men, The Cat’s Meow, Across the Universe and Valkyrie, and he costarred with Minnie Driver in the FX series The Riches from 2007 to 2008. In 2009, he ran 43 marathons in 51 days for Sport Relief, after which he received a BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. Eddie was voted one of the top 20 greatest comedic acts of all time and was number 75 on Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time” list. He will be starring in the popular Showtime series The United States of Tara in 2011.
