Edward Norton


Edward Norton was born August 18, 1969, in Columbia, Maryland. He is an actor, screenwriter and director who first gained notice in 1996 with his supporting role in Primal Fear, for which he received an Oscar nomination and won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. In 1998, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in American History X. Other films he has starred in include The People vs. Larry Flynt, Everyone Says I Love You, Kingdom of Heaven, Fight Club, Red Dragon, The Italian Job, Rounders, 25th Hour and The Painted Veil. He made his directorial debut with the 2000 movie Keeping the Faith. Norton is an environmental and social activist and a member of the board of trustees of Enterprise Community Partners, which was founded by his grandfather. He has been romantically linked to Courtney Love and Salma Hayek.
