High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie that aired in 2006. It was the most successful of all Disney Channel Original Movies with 7.7 million viewer on its premiere. High School Musical 2 was released in 2007 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year rounded out the trilogy. The film's soundtack was the best-selling album in the US in 2006.
