Hugh Hefner Bio
It's a special man who can build an empire without bothering to change out of his bathrobe and pajamas. Hugh Hefner is that man. Born in Chicago on April 9, 1926, Hefner began his publishing career with Children's Activities magazine before taking a radical turn in December 1953 with the first issue of venerable men's magazine Playboy. Since then Hef has amassed a personal fortune estimated at $300 million, all based on the appeal of female flesh genteelly displayed. His foray into reality TV, the E! series The Girls Next Door, almost seemed beneath such an icon, but he's obscenely rich, has three hot, young girlfriends and, presumably, the stamina to please them.
