Jessica Simpson was born July 10, 1980, in Abliene, Texas. She is a singer, actress and fashion designer. Jessica first came on the music scene when she opened for boy band 98 Degrees on tour, and it was quickly revealed that Jessica was dating the group’s lead singer, Nick Lachey. There was a lot of interest around their relationship, because Jessica had said that she would abstain from sex until marriage. Nick and Jessica were married in 2002, and their reality show, Newlyweds, premiered on MTV the next year. It was an instant hit and catapulted the two into superstardom. However, it put a strain on their marriage, and the two divorced in 2005. Before the divorce, Jessica starred in The Dukes of Hazzard; she has since starred in a number of unsuccessful films. However, she has had much success with her shoe and handbag line. Jessica’s weight has been heavily scrutinized by the press, but she reports that she is comfortable with her body. After her divorce, she dated John Mayer and Tony Romo, but both relationships have since ended.
