Jimi Hendrix


Jimi Hendrix was born November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington. A legendary guitarist, singer and songwriter, Jimi is still one of the most influential guitarists of all time. He had many musical influences himself, including Elvis Presley and Little Richard. His first band was The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Jimi played at the legendary musical festival Woodstock in 1969. One of his most well-known songs is “Purple Haze.” Jimi died September 18, 1970, in England. There was much controversy over his death, because some believed that he had committed suicide, while others thought he died from asphyxiation.
