Joan Crawford

Joan Crawford was born March 23, 1905, in San Antonio, Texas. She was an Academy Award-winning actress who experienced success in both film and theater. Joan starred in a number of successful films and is considered one of “Old Hollywood’s” most talented stars. She was notorious for being difficult to work with, and there were many rumored rivalries between Joan and other Hollywood actresses. Her films include Mildred Pierce and Possessed. Over the years, she adopted five children; one of them later released a tell-all book, Mommie Dearest, which detailed the alleged emotional and physical abuse Joan put her children through. The book was adapted into a movie. Joan was married four times. She died of cancer on May 10, 1977.
