John C. Reilly

Versatile actor John C. Reilly went from being our favorite ‘that guy’ to a household name with 2007’s comedy Walk Hard: The Legend of Dewey Cox. John Christopher Reilly, born on May 24, 1965, in Chicago, studied musical theater at DePaul University. He made his film debut in 1989’s Casualties of War, which starred Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox. Director Brian De Palma was so impressed with John’s performance that he recast him in a more prominent role during the film’s production. John has appeared in more than 50 films since then; some of his standout performances include porn star Reed Rothchild in Boogie Nights, doomed fisherman Dale 'Murph' Murphy in The Perfect Storm, and Renee Zellweger’s ‘cellophane’ husband in the musical Chicago, which earned John an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2003. John teamed up with Will Ferrell for 2006’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and is joining him again in Step Brothers.
