Jonas Brothers

Girls around the country have taken down their Moms' Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC posters and replaced them with the latest boy band/tween heartthrobs, the Jonas Brothers. This trio, hailing from Wycoff, New Jersey, was originally a solo act.

Nick Jonas (born on September 16, 1992) began his musical career at age 7, performing on Broadway in musicals Beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables. In 2002, Nick and his father wrote a song called Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer) for a charity album that became a hit on Christian radio.

Nick later released a solo album with songs co-written by Nick and his brothers Joe (born August 15, 1989) and Kevin (born November 5, 1987) which attracted little notice, other than bring the singer to the attention of Columbia Records head, Steve Greenberg. Although he wasn’t fond of the album, Greenberg liked Nick’s voice and loved the brothers’ songwriting skills and signed them to the label as a trio in 2005.

Their first album, It's About Time, was released in 2006. Despite touring with such acts as Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney and the Backstreet Boys, the album received a lukewarm reception, and the band was ultimately dropped by Columbia. The brothers signed with Disney's Hollywood records in 2007, released the self-titled Jonas Brothers album and served as the opening act for teen superstar Miley Cyrus on her Best of Both Worlds tour and shot to the pop stratosphere.

The talented trio's third album, A Little Bit Longer, drops in July 2008, and the band will take to the road to promote the album - followed by a camera crew to chronicle the tour for a concert film. The boys will soon be all over the Disney Channel with a movie, Camp Rock, and their own comedy series, J.O.N.A.S!, where the bros play rocking secret agents. Those Jonas posters will be on walls for years to come.
