Jude Law

British actor Jude Law brings a rich experience on the London stage to all of his roles and adds a touch of class to every film he appears in. If only he was such a gentleman in real life. David Jude Law, born December 29, 1972, in Lewisham, South London, began acting with the UK National Youth Music
Theatre in 1987. He won numerous Outstanding Newcomer awards for his role in the West End production of Jean Cocteau's tragicomedy Les parents terribles, which moved to Broadway in 1995 as Indiscretions, where Jude co-starred with Kathleen Turner, Roger Rees and Cynthia Nixon, earning a Tony Award nomination and the Theatre World Award.

Jude migrated to the West Coast and took on roles in the sci-fi film Gattaca and the Clint Eastwood-directed Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The classically trained Brit has been nominated for Academy Awards twice; first  in 1999 for The Talented Mr. Ripley, a role for which Jude learned to play the saxophone. Jude’s second nod was for 2003’s Cold Mountain. Both films were directed by the late Anthony Minghella.

Jude continued to rack up box office and critical successes with Alfie, Closer and The Holiday, but his personal life has been more rocky, with his marriage to actress Sadie Frost ending in divorce in 2003, and his relationship with Sienna Miller disintegrated in 2006. With upcoming roles in Repossession Mambo and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and a return to the London stage in a new production of Hamlet, directed by Kenneth Branagh, Jude has little time to worry about his love life.
