Kara DioGuardi was born December 9, 1970, in Ossining, New York. She is a singer and songwriter who was a judge on American Idol for two seasons, from 2009 to 2010. Kara has experienced much success with her songwriting, writing hit songs for artists such as Mariah Carey, the Jonas Brothers and Christina Aguilera, among many others. In 2008, she became executive vice president of talent development for Warner Bros. Records and signed artists such as Jason Derulo and Iyaz. Kara married Mike McCuddy in 2009.
