Katie Couric

Katie Couric was born January 7, 1957, in Arlington, Virginia. She is a television journalist who has anchored The Today Show and the CBS Evening News. Katie graduated from the University of Virginia in 1975 and began working with the ABC News bureau soon after. She appeared on The Today Show from 1991 to 2006, at which point she began hosting the CBS Evening News. The same year, she also began contributing to 60 Minutes from time to time. Katie married Jay Monohan in 1989 and they had two daughters together. He passed away in 1998 from colon cancer.
