Kim Cattrall was born August 21, 1956, in Liverpool, England. She is best known for her role as the promiscuous Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City series and films. Kim grew up in Canada and began acting in the 1970s. She experienced her first successes with the films Mannequin and Porky’s. She also starred in Police Academy and Big Trouble in Little China. In 1998, she began starring in the acclaimed HBO series Sex and the City, which won her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series. She also played Britney Spears’ mother in the 2002 film Crossroads. After the Sex and the City show ended in 2004, she starred in Ice Princess and the eventual Sex and the City movie, along with its sequel. Kim has been married three times; her most recent marriage, to Mark Levinson, ended in 2004. They had married in 1998.
