Kirk Douglas


Kirk Douglas was born December 9, 1916, in Amsterdam, New York. He is a legendary actor whose career has spanned six decades. He is number 17 on the American Film Institute’s list of the Greatest Male Screen Legends. He is also the father of actor Michael Douglas. Some of Kirk’s best-known films include Spartacus, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Final Countdown. Kirk married Diana Dill in 1943, and they had two sons, Michael and Joel, but the couple divorced in 1951. Kirk then married Anne Buydens in 1954 and they had two sons, Peter and Eric. Eric passed away from a drug overdose in 2004.
