Lauren Conrad Bio

When Lauren Conrad invited an MTV camera crew to follow her and her friends around in 2004, she probably never dreamed she’d become one of entertainment’s most talked-about young celebrities. Lauren, or ‘L.C.’ as she’s sometimes known, was born on February 1, 1986 in Laguna Beach, California (where else?) She aspired for a career in fashion from an early age, designing clothes for her Barbie dolls as a kid.

In 2004, Lauren signed on to join the cast of the unscripted MTV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Her good looks and girl-next-door personality made her a fan favorite and, after two seasons, MTV gave Lauren her own spin-off, The Hills, which followed Lauren and her then best friend Heidi Montag and boyfriend Jason Wahler to Los Angeles. The show focused on Lauren’s continuing fashion education and internship with Teen Vogue, the eventual break-up of her relationships with both Jason and Heidi and introduced us to Spencer Pratt, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge and Lauren ‘Lo’ Bosworth. The show has proven to be the music network’s biggest hits, recently completing its third season with a fourth currently in production, which bows in late summer of 2008.

Even though she enjoyed the success and celebrity she achieved with The Hills, Lauren never gave up her dream of being a fashion designer and, in March of 2008, she debuted her own line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, ensuring she’ll still be in our sights long after the sun sets on The Hills.
