Lisa Kudrow was born July 30, 1963, in Encino, California. She is an Emmy-winning actress best known for her role as Phoebe Buffay on the smash sitcom Friends. Lisa grew up in Los Angeles and attended Vassar College. Her first acting experience was with the famous improv troupe The Groundlings. She had a small part in the hit sitcom Mad About You before being cast on Friends in 1994. Friends lasted ten seasons, and by the time the show ended, Lisa and her costars (who still remain friends) had been earning $1 million per episode. During her tenure on Friends, she appeared in a number of feature films, including Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and Analyze This. After Friends, she appeared in the critically acclaimed HBO show The Comeback and starred in films such as Hotel for Dogs and Easy A. Lisa was nominated for six Emmys for her portrayal of Phoebe Buffay, winning one. She was also nominated for an Emmy for her performance in The Comeback. Lisa married Michael Stern in 1995 and they have one son, Julian, who was born in 1998.
