Luke Wilson

Bio

Luke Wilson is Hollywood's 'everyman' and has made his mark not only on his own but as part of the most talented set of brothers since the Baldwins. Luke is the younger brother of actors Owen and Andrew, born on September 21, 1971, in Dallas, Texas. In college he was more interested in athletics than acting and was a rising track and field star. He made his film debut in the 1996 crime caper Bottle Rocket, co-written by Owen and director Wes Anderson. Luke moved out to Los Angeles with his brothers and his early career included two films with then-girlfriend Drew Barrymore, Home Fries and Best Men (both in 1998) and a small part in Wes Anderson's Rushmore (co-written by Anderson and brother Owen.) He also starred alongside Martin Lawrence in Blue Streak and again appeared on-screen with Drew in Charlie's Angels. In 2001, Luke's role in the comedy Legally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon brought him in front of his biggest audience to date and that same year he again worked with Owen and Wes Anderson in The Royal Tenenbaums. With films such as Old School, Luke, Owen, Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller became known as the 'Frat Pack,' appearing in a number of successful comedies together, including 2004's Anchorman. Luke went on to appear in the sequels of Charlie's Angels and Legally Blonde and starred in the cult classic Idiocracy (with his brother Andrew in the small but memorable role of 'Beef Supreme.') With his dashing looks and comic style, Luke's career has taken off like a (bottle) rocket.
