Marcia Cross

Marcia Cross' knack for chewing scenery has served her well, as she has ascended through the ranks of soap opera stars to create some of TV's more memorable characters. Born on March 25, 1962, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Marcia began her career in daytime dramas, landing her first gig on The Edge of Night in 1984 and went on to Another World and One Live to Live in 1986. She moved to prime time, making guest appearances on shows such as Cheers, Who's the Boss? and Quantum Leap and landing a recurring role on the Dallas spin-off Knots Landing (with Nicollette Sheridan), but it was her over-the-top portrayal of the mentally unbalanced 'Kimberly Shaw' on the nighttime soap Melrose Place that made Marcia a star. When Melrose wrapped in 1997, Marcia continued to keep busy, appearing on Seinfeld, Boy Meets World and Everwood. In 2004, Marcia again found herself on a nighttime soap, this time the highly-rated Desperate Housewives, where she plays obsessive-compulsive 'Bree.' Marcia's personal life has played out much like the storyline of one of the many soaps she's appeared on. After the end of a five-year relationship with actor Richard Jordan, who passed away from a brain tumor in 1993, Marcia's love life was pretty much non-existent until she met stockbroker Tom Mahoney, whom she wed on June 24, 2006. The couple welcomed twins Eden and Savannah on February 20, 2007. With her latest show's voracious fan following, Marcia won't be desperate for work anytime soon.
