Mario Lopez

Actor Mario Lopez is among the members of a small fraternity of actors who have been able to successfully transition from teen heartthrob to successful adult entertainer - without landing in the tabloids. Mario was born on October 10, 1973 in San Diego, California and began his career at a young age. In 1985, he landed a gig as a dancer on the TV series Kids Incorporated, which launched the careers of Stacy 'Fergie' Ferguson and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

His big break came in 1989, when he landed the role of high school heartthrob 'A.C. Slater' on the teen comedy Saved by the Bell. He stayed with the show - and its continuation, Saved By The Bell: The College Years until 1994. He went on to roles in made-for-TV movies, most notably 1997's Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story and recurring parts on Pacific Blue and the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful. Mario was also on the panel for the male version of The View, The Other Half, which aired from 2001 to 2003.

Mario re-entered the public eye in 2006 when he competed on the third season of Dancing with the Stars, where he and partner Karina Smirnoff placed second behind football player Emmitt Smith. Since then, Mario has served as a special correspondent for entertainment show Extra, hosted MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, made his Broadway debut as Zach the director in the revival of A Chorus Line and wrote his own workout book, Mario Lopez's Knockout Fitness. Mario has certainly graduated from teen idol to one busy adult actor.
