The daughter of one of the silver screen's sexiest icons, Mariska Hargitay has eclipsed her famous mother and has become one of television's most respected actresses. She was born in Santa Monica, California on January 23, 1964, the daughter of actress Jayne Mansfield and her bodybuilder husband Mickey Hargitay. She was in the car with her siblings and her mother in the accident which took her mother's life in 1967. Mariska attended UCLA, but dropped out six months prior top graduation to pursue her career. She was crowned Miss Beverly Hills USA in 1983 and came in fourth in the Miss California pageant that year. She went on to recurring roles on the drama Falcon Crest and ER.
