Matthew Fox was born on July 14, 1966 in Crowheart, Wyoming. After growing up on a horse ranch, Matthew yearned for the big and attended college at New York's Columbia University. During his college years, he played football and, as a wide receiver, played in the 1988 game against Princeton that broke the school's infamous 44-game losing streak. Although an accomplished athlete, Matthew wanted to be an actor and after college, worked with the Atlantic Theater Company while attending New York's School for Film and Television. He made his acting debut at the age of 25, on an episode of Wings and continued to make guest appearances and took supporting roles on short-lived series before getting his big break on the FOX drama series Party of Five, where he played the older brother to Neve Campbell and Lacey Chabert from 1994 to 2000. His biggest career success came in 2004, when he landed the starring role of 'Dr. Jack Shepard' on the ABC supernatural drama series Lost. He has been nominated for a Golden Globe and shared the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble Cast with his fellow Lost actors in 2006. He has found limited success on the big screen appearing with Matthew McConaughey in We Are Marshall and co-starring along with Emile Hirsch as 'Racer X' in the Wachowski Brothers-directed Speed Racer in 2008. No matter where his career takes him, audiences will be 'lost' without seeing Matthew's talents (and good looks) on the screen.
