Matthew Perry

Just like an old friend, audiences are always happy to see Matthew Perry. Born on August 19, 1969 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, Matthew was raised in Canada, where he became a top-ranked junior tennis player. When he was 15, his family moved to Los Angeles, where Matthew put down the tennis racket and took up acting. He performed in a number of plays throughout high school and at 18, made his move to the big screen with a role in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, with River Phoenix. He honed his craft by working in improvisational comedy at an LA comedy club. In the early 80s, Matthew made a variety of guest appearances on shows like Silver Spoons and Charles in Charge, before getting cast in his first TV series, Second Chance, which ran from 1987 to 1988. Matthew went on to guest spots on Growing Pains and Beverly Hills 90210 and won a recurring role on the 1990 sitcom Sydney with Valerie Bertinelli. Despite getting work, none of the projects Matthew worked on lasted very long, until he got the role of 'Chandler Bing' on Friends in 1994. The show ran for ten seasons and made Matthew a star. During his time on Friends, Mathew also worked in film, sticking to comedies like Fools Rush In with Salma Hayek and The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis. After Friends wrapped in 2004, Matthew didn't return to series TV until 2006 and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which only lasted a season on NBC. Matthew's next big project is the comedy 17 Again with teen heartthrob Zac Efron. Matthew is still one friend we'd like to see more often.
