Rainn Wilson

Stage veteran Rainn Wilson has used his offbeat looks and quirky personality to become America's favorite cubicle dweller. Rainn Dietrich Wilson was born on January 20, 1966 in Seattle, Washington. The actor began his training at Tufts University and the University of Washington, and received his MFA in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1989. Rainn spent years doing theater both on and off-Broadway, toured and did regional theater before getting his first TV role on the soap opera One Life to Live in 1997. His slightly odd looks made him a natural to play a benevolent alien on the 1999 comedy Galaxy Quest, his first big screen part. He went on to supporting roles in films such as Almost Famous, America's Sweethearts and Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses, and made guest appearances on shows such as Charmed and C.S.I. before landing a recurring role as as 'Arthur Martin,' the intern at Fisher & Diaz Funeral Home, on the critically-acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under. In 2005, Rainn landed the role that has made him a household name - and a highly in-demand bobblehead - Dwight Schrute, the assistant to the assistant regional manager on the NBC comedy The Office. Rainn has been responsible for some of the show's funniest moments, from the creation of 'Schrute Bucks' to the pranks played on him by his office nemesis 'Jim Halpert.' He also writes the blog posts for the Schrute-Space section of the show's web site. Since working for the fictional paper company Dunder Milfin, Rainn has 'moonlighted' on such films as My Super Ex-Girlfriend, The Last Mimzy and the Academy Award-nominated Juno. Rainn and his wife, author Holiday Reinhorn have a son, Walter McKenzie, who was born in 2004. Fans hope that Rainn stays in the forecast for a long time to come.
